Aging gracefully and the smart way
By Christian Domergue
Considering the tremendous amount of pain associated with diseases and "avoidable" premature deaths, I humbly offer my thoughts and suggestions based on many years of a very good and healthy life... so far!
Many of our customers have heard me say "Despite my age (born in 1940), I have yet to visit a medical doctor." For the average American this is unheard of! I think I am blessed with a robust constitution but also with a sense of balance when it comes to my day to day life. This includes the way I think, pray, love, eat, have fun, exercise and control stress! Always grateful -daily- for who I am and for the blessings I continuously receive.
Many more of us should enjoy excellent health into our 80s and up!. How do we do this? The best way is to establish good health habits and positive attitudes about life when you are young. However, it is never too late to start. Even if you are in the Baby Boomer generation and have been living on a diet of junk food, you can still reap positive benefits by adopting good health practices now. Here are some basic tips.
Losing Weight
During this past 5 month period of being at home, many of us have experienced weight gain. It is common to reach for "Comfort Food"... and that type of food is usually full of dead nutrients such as sugar, white flour etc.
So the recipe we offer below can help you lose weight if you follow our recommendation and common sense eating!
7-Keto is a safe, natural metabolite of dehydro-epiandrosterone DHEA.
It influences the thyroid and helps boost metabolism and lower your body's pre-programmed weight "set-point".
7-Keto has been clinically tested, and published findings indicate that 100 mg of 7-Keto taken twice a day significantly lowered body fat over an eight-week study period. The effect was attributed to an increase in T3 hormone concentrations. Hormone (TSH) and thyroxine (T4) hormone levels were not affected. People who participated in the study group lost about three times as much fat as those in the control group. Animal studies have shown that 7-Keto is essentially non-toxic and produced no measurable side effects.

Common sense eating
Good nutrition is one of the fundamental principles of good health. The research is pretty clear that people who adopt a diet with lots of fresh and natural (preferably organic) foods live longer and are in better health than those who primarily consume modern processed and refined foods.
Most nutritional experts agree that one of the best ways to avoid cancer, heart disease, loss of memory and other degenerative diseases is to eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. These foods are naturally high in antioxidants that protect the body from free radicals and environmental toxins. Some great antioxidant foods to include in your diet are berries, tomatoes, leafy green vegetables and a little dark chocolate (70% cocoa). Cruciferous and green vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, kale and Swiss chard can help protect your body from toxins and cancer as you age. Include some of these foods in your diet everyday.
Another good food to consider is nuts, which are a rich source of unsaturated fats, vitamins and antioxidants. Good fats and fat soluble vitamins are important for protecting the brain, so eating foods such as deep ocean fish, wild caught salmon, organic butter (from pastured cows if possible), free-range eggs and grass fed meats, is also very helpful for maintaining physical and mental health.
Good Oils to use include Olive Oil and Coconut Oil.
Minimize the Bad Stuff
To keep your health as you age, there are some things that are best to avoid. For instance, don't smoke. Smoking a pack of cigarettes a day for 10 years will put you at higher risk for heart disease, cancer and stroke.
It is also wise to go easy on the alcohol. Having an occasional glass of wine or a beer with a meal is fine, but regular consumption of beer and hard liquor is detrimental to the health of your liver and your brain.
Another major thing to avoid is too many simple carbohydrates (refined sugars and white flour). These foods raise insulin levels, promote weight gain, increase and contribute to the development of diabetes. Also avoid processed fats such as partially hydrogenated vegetable oils, margarine and shortening. Of course, it helps to avoid processed foods in general, especially ones that contain a lot of chemical additives. Keep in mind that it is easier to avoid the "bad stuff" when you concentrate on getting more of the "good stuff."

Brain Memory
Mind-Max is the most perfect combination for optimal brain function.
NSP Mind Max contains magnesium l-threonate plus gotu kola herb, bacopa leaf and ginkgo leaf herbs well-known for their benefits for circulation and brain health for a powerful brain boost.
As we age, brain health becomes increasingly important. In the last century, life expectancy has increased by nearly 30 years to an average of 77 years. With this increase, more individuals are experiencing the dramatic effects of aging. Between the ages of 20 and 90, the average person loses 5 to 10% of his or her brain weight with an accompanying loss in memory, attention and other cognitive functions.
Scientific research is zeroing in on a decreased number of nerve synapses (the connections between nerve cells) as the reason for this decline. A higher concentration of nerve synapses in the brain directly correlates to better memory. Protecting and even increasing nerve synapses may promote brain health.
Magnesium plays an essential role in nerve synapses. However, most forms of magnesium are not well absorbed by nervous tissue. That is until researchers at MIT found a highly absorbable form of magnesium "magnesium L-threonate" which has been shown in studies to easily cross the blood brain barrier and increase the brain's magnesium level. In their studies, researchers found that both young and old participants experienced increased cognitive function while taking magnesium 1-threonate.

Constipation
Most people consider themselves "regular" if they have one bowel movement a day. However, animals, healthy babies and native peoples living off the land usually have one bowel movement for each meal they eat. These natives, who consume diets high in fiber, have much lower rates of colon cancer, diverticulitis, hemorrhoids or other bowel problems - Hence the once a day pattern of most North Americans and "civilized' people may be normal but should not be considered healthy.
Keeping the colon working smoothly is often the key to better health. Often neglected or ill-treated, the colon serves as the dumping ground for our body's wastes.
When abused, this organ becomes sluggish and fails to work correctly. Elimination becomes sporadic or sometimes too frequent. You never know what to expect. It is like having your local trash man show up unannounced several times a week - or not at all. In the first case, abdominal pain and dehydration will occur. In the latter, "garbage" gets backed up and decay begins.
We have a variety of products to deal with bowel issues. Read the short description for guidance or call us (407-740-8084 in Florida for help in selecting the best product for you)
