The Mild Food Diet is used in chronic illnesses when the body needs maximum nutrition with easy-to-digest foods; to help bring on or initiate a healing cleanse, or to help slow down a disease crisis, so you won't become too ill or cleanse too fast.
The diet consists of:
1. All fruits: raw or frozen, including papaya, mangos, etc.
2. Vegetables: raw as much as possible, when cooked, only lightly steamed. Bake all starch vegetables. Suggestion for tossed salads: leaf lettuce (no head lettuce), raw yams (sliced or grated), romaine lettuce, spinach, chard, raw corn, green peppers, cabbage (purple and green), grated carrots, raw beets grated, raw asparagus, zuccini, sprouted lentils, other sprouts (especially alfalfa sprouts), tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, avocado, raw or frozen peas. Also vegetable soups.
3. Fruit juices: fresh or frozen.
4. Vegetable juices: all raw (carrot, spinach, etc.)
5. Cold pressed oils and apple cider vinegar, aged in wood, with herb seasonings for dressing for salads.

Think of what you can eat and not what you cannot.
You'll probably be hungry at first. Eat all the food you want as long as it is on the diet.
Everything is low calorie and high nutrition.
After about 4-12 weeks your body should start a healing crisis. You will feel like you have the flu or a cold for 2 to 3 days. Keep eating the steamed vegetables and soups like you have been and take enemas for a couple of days to help the body cleanse. Little by little the body will build, heal and cleanse, and build, heal and cleanse until it climbs up the healing ladder to optimum health.
The scale of getting better looks like this:
a. feel better than usual
b. healing crisis the next day for 2 or 3 days
This is called the reverse healing process. You are retracing the path you went down as you became ill in the first place. Some days on the crisis times you may feel sick enough to think you are getting worse, not better. The body is eliminating toxins and poisons, but you should start to notice that the lows are not low as they used to be and the highs are getting higher. Most experienced health people will tell you there is a time of feeling worse before getting better.
Everyone always asks, "How long will this take?" The answer is: "As long as it takes your body to start feeling better." If it is a chronic disease that has been going on for years it will take more time than an acute problem. This of course depends on how strong your body is, how fast your body cleanses, and how diligent you are.
If you are coming off a cleanse add the foods from the Real Food Diet slowly so your body has time to adjust to the change.
