A panic attack occurs when a state of anxiety is so severe that the person begins to breathe in a rapid, shallow manner and becomes tense to the point of cramping and the inability to act. A person who is prone to anxiety and panic attack usually needs adrenal, thyroid and nervous system support.

People with blood type A are more prone to anxiety and panic because they have a harder time breaking down the stress hormones produced by the adrenal glands. Adaptogens can help overcome the tendency to anxiety by reducing the production of stress hormones. Avoid caffeine and other stimulants. Taking B-complex vitamins, particularly B6, and eliminating refined sugar from the diet will also be helpful.

To relieve acute anxiety or panic attacks, it is necessary to calm down the function of the sympathetic nervous system with sympatholytic agents and to increase the activity of the parasympathetic nervous system with parasympathomemetic agents. To do this, try taking 10-15 drops of lobelia every 2-3 minutes or one capsule of kava kava every ten minutes while concentrating on breathing slowly and deeply.
You can also take Distress Remedy.
